- I have been a midwesterner most of my life, living in Illinois and Iowa. I am a recently retired first grade teacher, switching roles to become a more active grandmother. We have seven grandchildren - 4 girls and 3 boys. I love to spend time with my husband, Jim. Together we enjoy relaxing in our hot tub, riding our tandem, and traveling when time and money permits.
